MARGAO: Bhavesh Jain’s unbeaten 64 helped The Kings School, SJ de Areal record a convincing 135-run victory over Shishu Vikas HS, Rawanfond in Salcete Taluka U-17 boys inter-school cricket tournament, organized by DSYA, at SAG sports complex, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Batting first, Bhavesh put Kings School in a commanding position and posted 159 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Shishu Vikash were bundled out for 24 in nine overs. Avinash Pandey was the pick of the bowlers and was rewarded with figures of three wickets for just two runs while Shanket Talwar and Saurav Fadte shared two wickets each.
Earlier, VG Shevi High School, Rawonfond defeated St Jude High School, Betalbatim by five wickets to move into the second round.
