VALPOI: Bhuipal Bulls won the Sattari Premier League tennis ball cricket tournament, organised by Sattari Cricket Club, defeating Ravalnath Kings by nine wickets at Saleli ground, Valpoi, recently.
Batting first, Ravalnath Kings set up a target of 39 in allotted five overs. Keshav and Avinash of Ravalnath Kings scored 11 and 10 runs each.
For Bhuipal, Bhairu Manpo was the pick of the bowlers pocketing three wickets.
Chasing a decent target, Gangaram Zore (22) and Manoj (15) fired Bhuipal Bulls to a comfortable nine wickets win. The winners were awarded Rs 20,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 10,000 and trophy. Altogether six teams participated in the tournament.
Health Minister Vishwajit K. Rane was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Satteri CC chairman Rajesh Hedge, treasurer Nanu Pavne and other dignitaries.
Individual Awards: Man-of-the-Series: Manish Varak (Bhuipal Bulls); Best Batsman: Manish Varak (Bhuipal Bulls); Best Bowler: Gangaram Varak (Ram Warrior).
