Big wins for Black Mamba, Lazy Boys

PANJIM: Black Mambas and Lazy Boys registered convincing victories in their respective encounters of the first FAG Futsal Championship, organised by Futsal Association of Goa, while Vailankanni Boys and Street footballers played out a 3-3 draw in another match on Monday.

PANJIM: Black Mambas and Lazy Boys registered convincing victories in their respective encounters of the first FAG Futsal Championship, organised by Futsal Association of Goa, while Vailankanni Boys and Street footballers played out a 3-3 draw in another match on Monday. 
Black Mambas defeated Varca Warriors 5-2 at Fr Agnel Ashram, Basketball court, Verna.
Black Mambas opened account in the 2nd minute with Carneiro bulging the net and then Varca Warriors restoring parity the following minute with Cleon Barreto.
Black Mambas then took the lead right before half-time when Carneiro tucked away a well connected  pass and doubled his goals to add 3 goals to his name.
Black Mambas led 4-1 at half time.
Arjun Vernekar scored for Varca  in the 11th minute from close range after keeper Paul saved his initial shot.  Just one minute later A Colaco extended Black Mambas lead to 5-2 in the 14th minute.
Carneiro became the first player in this championship to score a hat-trick with Black Mambas emerging winners in the first match .
In following match Lazy Boys drubbed Holy Spirit Boys 7-2 with M Fernandes emerging the player of the match.
Meanwhile at Don Bosco court, Street Boys and Vailankanni Boys had to settle for a 3-3.
Earlier, chief guest Melvin Sanches declared the Futsal Championship open flanked with Benjamin Silva, President of Futsal Association of Goa (FAG )and other top officials of FAG at Verna.
