Blessica rescues Sesa FA, Compassion SC held

NAVELIM: Sesa Football Academy and Compassion SC engaged in a high-octane GFA-Vedanta Women’s League clash at Navelim ground that resulted in a nail-biting 1-1 draw.

The initial half of the game belonged to Compassion SC, as they relentlessly pressed forward in pursuit of the opening goal. Pearl Fernandes of Compassion FC took a remarkable shot, but Sesa FA’s keeper displayed outstanding reflexes to deny the attempt. 

However, it was Pearl Fernandes who eventually found the back of the nets in the 18th minute, capitalising on a well-placed cross from Zuriel Tavares.

Swellen Fernandes of Compassion SC tried to extend the lead with a powerful shot, but Ashika Gadekar, the goalkeeper for Sesa FA, exhibited exceptional goalkeeping skills by making a crucial save. 

On the other hand Tanvi Parulekar of Sesa Football Academy attempted to level the score, but her shot went wide. Vailanka D’Souza of Sesa Football Academy also took a concern-inducing shot that sailed into the safe hands of Compassion’s goalkeeper, Lysander Rodrigues. 

Blessica Rodrigues of Sesa FA gave her team hope with a fierce shot, but Lysandra Rodrigues, Compassion’s goalkeeper, made a vital save.  Compassion lead 1-0 at first half.

The second half brought even more excitement. Compassion SC’s defensive lapse gave Blessica Rodrigues of Sesa FA a golden opportunity, and she capitalised on it beautifully, finding the back of the nets in the 55th minute bringing Sesa FA on level terms.

Zuriel Tavares of Compassion SC had a chance to restore the lead when she dribbled past the keeper but shockingly missed an open goal, leaving fans in disbelief.

Pearl Fernandes, the star of Compassion FC, had an opportunity to clinch win, but her shot landed right in the hands of Ashika Gadekar, the Sesa FA keeper, who showed nerves of steel.

In the end, both teams showcased their incredible skills and determination, leaving the fans with a thrilling 1-1 draw.
