PANJIM: Goa’s ace boxer, Vishwanath Naik put up a brave fight before settling for a bronze medal as he missed out on a difference of just two points against West Bengal opponent Vipin Kumar 16-14, in the Bantam 56kg category boxing event, at the 35th National Games, in Kerala, on Thursday.
“My opponent was taller and was playing long. He kept me away from his range but I tried my best and attacked him with more punches to score. However, I went down fighting by a difference of just points,” said Vishwanath from Kerala.
Yogesh Tokas from Delhi was the other bronze medallist.
