Odafa was adjudged Man-of-the-match. However, Brandon was simply outstanding with his performance in what was only his third appearance for the club.
Brandon played a key role in both the goals. First, he played Anthony Wolfe in a good position inside the Salgaocar danger zone from where the former Trinidad and Tobago World Cupper set up Odafa to score in the 11th minute.
Post resumption, Brandon unleashed a powerful volley which deflected off Salgaocar defender Augustin Fernandes to double his side’s lead in the 60th minute and secure three points for Sporting Clube.
Sporting Clube are still in troubled waters as they find themselves at the bottom of the relegation zone but a first win has definitely shown them the light and will be relying on performances like these to move up the table.
Brandon will be the player to watch as Sporting Clube take on Mumbai FC, at Nehru stadium, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
