MAPUSA: Brothers in Arms got the better of Royal Boys 2-1 via the tie breaker to win the All Goa 3-a-side football tournament organised by St. Xavier’s Boys, Moira, at Tambdi Mati ground, at Pirazona, Moira, recently.
The game began with both the teams attacking and trying to establish control in the midfield.
At the end of regulation time both the teams were locked in a goalless draw forcing the contest to be decided on penalties where Brothers in Arms proved to be better shooters.
The winners were awarded a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 5,000 while the runners-up took home Rs.3,000.
A total of 40 teams participated in the one day tournament.
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Spokesperson, Amarnath Panjikar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
The best player of the tournament was awarded to Charles D’souza from Caetano Boys.
