Cabinet minister’s PS manhandled

PANJIM: A personal secretary to a cabinet minister has accused one police constable of manhandling him and his minor daughter at Nehru stadium, Fatorda where the family had been to watch the finale of Indian Super League between FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC.

Shailesh Ugadekar said the constable, whose name he does not recollect, abused him while his family members were entering the stadium from Gate Number 8 on Sunday evening.
“The constable pushed me for no fault of mine. When I questioned him of the act, he abused me,” the PS to tourism minister and former PS to ex-chief minister Manohar Parrikar (now defence minister) alleged. The on-duty police personnel reportedly manhandled him and his underage daughter again, when they were returning after the match concluded.
Ugadekar claims he has noted the buckle number of the constable, which would be revealed in a complaint he would lodge at Margao police station on Monday.
