CANSAULIM/ CHICALIM: CAC Cansaulim won a seven-goal thriller in the Goa Football Association GFA U-14 League on Friday, while Benfica Youth Club also earned full points in the respective matches.
Om Honawarkar stole the lime-light at TB Cunha Sports Complex, Cansaulim as the young lad scored his hat-trick netting four quality strikes which helped CAC Cansaulim down A A de Majorda 5-2.
Om was the centre of attraction as his dribbling and shooting skills made it difficult to defend and stop him from scoring.
His vision in front of the goal and finishing touch were brilliant. Om scored the first in the 18th minute and completed his hat-trick just before breather scoring two goals, to give CAC Cansaulim a comfortable first half lead.
A A de Majorda struggled in the first half but they came back strongly in the second half and soon pulled a goal back in the 38th minute through Irfan Lal.
But CAC Cansaulim weren’t affected with the goal, and they continued with what they did in the first half —scoring goals.
They consolidated the lead in the 46th minute through Abel Gracious before Om scored his fourth of the evening.
Lysander Barretto managed to add another goal for A A de Majorda.
In another match at Chicalim ground, Benfica Youth Club edged past Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna 2-1.
Ansel Monteiro gave Benfica the lead in the 21st minute and they doubled the tally in the 44th minute through Milroy Rodrigues.
Harish K managed to pull a goal back for Rossman Cruz in the 65th minute.
