BETALBATIM: CAC Cansaulim got the better of Varca SC, 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Martins Cup organised by Betalbatim SC, at Betalbatim ground, on Monday.
It was Soccoro Pereira the striker of Varca SC who took control of the ball in the 5th minute from the talented defender, Jason Fernandes dribbled past Domnic Soares and Roshwel Figuerido of Cansaulim, goalkeeper Prabhakar Kattimini of Cansaulim pushed away the ball to safety.
Veegan Ferrao and Melody Correia of Cansaulim’s tricky move should have netted the first goal for the side but Veegan’s power drive shot was denied by the rival post in the 7th minute. Minutes later, Varca’s Soccoro Pereira came up with a solo long ranger shot but was denied by rival cross bar.
Cansaulim went out all guns blazing and netted two goals which came from Veegan Ferrao in the 15th minute and the second for Cansaulim was netted by Man-of-the-Match, Chadwick Furtado in the 40th minute.
