MAJORDA: Goals by striker Agnelo D’Souza enabled CAC, Cansaulim overcome Betalbatim SC 2-0 and enter the semi-finals of the 21st Fr Basilio Andrade Football tournament and played at Musson ground, Majorda.
Betalbatim SC will now meet host A A de Majorda in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
CAC, Cansaulim did not gave time for the betalbatim team to settle down and within the very second minute scored his first goal. It was Chadwick D’souza, the live wire for Cansaulim team gave another accurate pass to Agnelo D’souza who banged home from close range to increase his tally in the 5th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of Cansaulim team.
Goaded by the success Cansaulim exerted pressure to increase the score line but Betalbatim defended well with Didymus Antao standing like a rock for the remaining part of the game.
The second session saw Betalbatim distributing the ball with medio Sydney Sequeira and Savan Lotikar trying their best to breach the strong Cansaulim defensive line by without any success.
