PANJIM: CAC, Cansaulim subdued Sao Jose de Areal 2-0 to advance in Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup 2014, organized by Pax of Nagoa Sports Club, at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Monday.
The match began on a slow pace with both the teams taking their own time to settle.
Sao Jose de Areal boys found lacking a game plan to attack and thus giving ample space for CAC, Cansaulim to attack. The Areal boys could have taken a lead in the 15th minute but Romeo Moura failed to convert.
Having settled by now, CAC, Cansaulim managed to open an account through the boots of Domnic Soares in the 20th minute. A goal down Areal boys, were seen wanting of ideas to come to terms and find the equalizer.
The score at half time was 1-0 in favor of CAC, Cansaulim.
On changing ends, CAC, Cansaulim further stamped their authority on the game and in the 35th minute Regan Juliao scored a close range goal through a lovely pass from the winger.
With two goals down, there was some good hard work from Sao Jose de Areal in the later part of the game but failed to capitalize on the chances that came their way.
As for the CAC, Cansaulim, the margin could have been much bigger had their forwards converted the chances that came their way. Sao Jose de Areal had a very subdued game today which surprised most of their supporters.
