RAIA: Calangute Association defeated Guardian Angel 2-1 in the GFA Pro league tournament match played at SAG ground Benaulim on Sunday.
Calangute Association through Jovito Caridade Fernandes, the under-21 striker, should have netted but his shot missed the Guardian Angel target by whiskers in the 9th minute than Joel Barretto of Guardian Angel the midfielder glancing header missed the Calangute target by whiskers in the 12th minutes.
Calangute netted the first goal of the match through Dangmei Gaipulan in the 38th minute but it didn’t take long for Guardian Angel to equalise in the 45th minute through Joel Barretto.
As the match progressed, in the 65th minute Jovito Caridade Fernandes netted the match winner.
