MAPUSA: Calangute Association SC registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Vasco SC in the Goa Professional League held at Sirsaim ground, on Tuesday.
The first session was equally contested to find the teams march back into the dressing room playing goalless.
On crossing over Calangute Association came with renewed ideas and pumped in two goals through substitute Aman Govekar in the 60th and 79th minute of play.
It was smart defending by Calangute’s stopper back Krishnanath Shirodkar who along with his keeper Sanij Bugde gave very little space for Port Towners strikers to have a clear look at their goal.
Krishnanath Shirodkar w rightly awarded the best player award from the hands of Micky Fernandes, head coach of Vasco SC.
At Nagoa Panchayat football ground, Cortalim Villagers Social Welfare SC defeated Geno FC by 2-0 goals to collect full points. K Dhanushraj gave lead to Cortalim Villagers in the 15th minute of the match. Later in the second session – Sidney Lucas doubled the lead in the 83rd minute.
