RAIA: Calangute Association blanked Vasco SC 2-0 in the GFA Goa Pro League match played at Raia ground, on Monday.
Calangute Association dominated through Josley Dias while for Vasco SC Frank Alves Kouassa was in the forefront in the first half.
Just two minutes into the match, Vasco SC’s Franck Alves took control of the ball from midfielder Faizal Bepari but the former’s goal bond shot deflected Bonny Niasso, defender of Calangute Association and went out of play.
Calangute Association striker Josley Dias had a chance to score in the 5th minute but Vasco SC’s midfielder Kingslee Fernandes foiled his move. Again, Josley’s left footer in the 12th minute missed the Vasco SC net.
Vasco SC had a chance to score later when Kingslee’s well connected the ball to Frank but Bonny, defender of Calangute Association foiled his move in the 44th minute.
Within a minute, Vasco SC’s Frank shot wide.
Change of ends saw Calangute Association with renew ideas and tricky moves. They bore the fruits in the 70th minute through Josley Dias off a header from a corner kick.
Vasco SC try for equaliser went in vain when Kingslee’s long ranger flew high up in the air in the 76th minute.
Agnelo Colaco made it 2-0 for Calangute Association in the injury time.
