Calangute dojo bagged 9 gold hogging the limelight on the first day of the 1st State JSKA Karate Championship organized  by JSKA Goa in collaboration with All Goa Karate-do Association at Indoor stadium, here.
The highlight was a double gold by  Abeita Menezes in kata and kumite in the below-10 girls category.
Bagging a double silver was Alisha in kata and kumite.The bronze was bagged by Vrishika in kata while Revathi and Nazneen shared the bronze in kumite.
In the below-12 years girls category, Pallavi Narshimha also from Calangute dojo took the gold both in the kata as well as kumite.
In kata, Anushka Kanulker bagged the silver while  Antara Samant bagged the bronze. In kumite, Pooja Haldankar took the silver while Reshma Naik and Shivpriya Tari bagged a bronze each.
In yet another double gold by the girls, in the below-6 years category, it was Calangute doing the honours, this time through Dharani Shetty who won in kata as well as in kumite. Vaishnavi Palkar also from Calangute bagged a double silver in the class winning in kata as well as in kumite. Varshada Kamli settled for a double bronze winning in kata and in kumite.
Other who bagged gold medals were Rohan Naik (kata) and Rakesh Narshimha (kumite) in the below-10 years boys category. In the boys below-12 years, Vaibhav Raul in kata and Saeesh Korgaonkar in kumite won the gold.
In the below-6 years boys category, Bhuvan won the gold in kata while Thomas  took the gold in kumite.
In the girls below-8 years category, Elaine Fernandes won the gold  in kata while Anushka Shah won the gold in kumite. In the boys section, Archit Borkar took the gold in kata, while Sushant bagged the gold in kumite.
