MAPUSA: Calangute Association Sports Club managed to scrape past Dunes Sports Club 2-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of the W Hotels Soccer Cup, organised by Chapora YS, played at Chapora ground, on Thursday.
It was Dunes who drew the first blood in the very 5th minute where Nevil Rodrigues collecting a through pass from Amir Salgaonkar scored.
Calangute exerted pressure and finally in the 35th minute equalized through Cristian Fernandes from a fine assist by Blake Halankar, 1-1.
On crossing over in the 52nd minute Calangute were awarded a penalty where Deep Govekar scored 2-1.
