PER-SERAULIM: Calangute Veterans pipped Nuvem Veterans 2-1 to lift the 18th Flame of Unity Veterans Cup, at Per-Seraulim Mabai ground, on Wednesday.
Pascoal Pereira and Bruno Coutinho netted a goal each for Calangute in the 6th and 25th minutes respectively while Avelino Rodrigues pulled a goal back for Nuvem Veterans in the 34th minute
The winners collected Rs 30,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 25,000 plus trophies.
Valanka Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners up in the presence of Nelly Rodrigues, ZP member, Colva, sports organiser and promoter of veterans football in Seraulim Cresencio Furtado, Jose Santos, Heraclio Fernandes, Agnel D’Silva and other dignitaries.
