PER-SERAULIM: Calangute Veterans thrashed Max veterans Colva 4-0 to storm into the final of the Colva Veterans football tournament, at Mabai ground Per-Seraulim, on Thursday.
The match witnessed beautiful game by the legend Bruno Coutinho and Remy Colaco of Calangute Veterans while for Max Veterans Mario Carvalho and Alfred Fernandes were up to the mark.
With the vociferous backing of home supporters, Max Veterans in the first five minutes dominated the proceedings.
Max Veterans through lanky Alfred Fernandes well connected the ball to Mario Carvalho inside the box of Calangute Veterans but Ramesh Palkar of Calangute Veterans tackled his move in the 4th minute.
Bruno Coutinho of Calangute Veterans slammed a powerful long ranger in the 6th minute which hit the side netting of Max Veterans.
As the match progressed Calangute Veterans drew the first blood through Remy Colaco’s header of a corner kick from Alexander Fernandes.
Within 13 minutes Alexander Fernandes made it 2-0 for Calangute Veterans while Bruno Coutinho scored a brace in the 20th and 29th minute for Calangute Veterans to take the tally to 4-0.
