PANJIM: Camotim Vaddo defeated Arradi Boys 5-4 via tie breaker, to advance into the next round of Saipem SC Calangute constituency inter-ward football tournament played at Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, on Tuesday.
The match was played at a very fast pace and both team had an equal number of scoring chances. Camotim Vaddo almost scored through a header from Duarte but Arradi Boys goalkeeper Chandan was equal to the task.
Before half-time Arradi Boys goalkeeper saved a dozen scoring shots at their goal.
In second half Arradi Boys attacked Camotim Vaddo and had most of the ball possession but were not able to score as Camotim Vaddo defence was strong.
At the end of the regulation time the score was 0-0.
In the resultant tie-breaker Anytony, Bernard, Duarte, Nikhil and Clive scored for Camotim Vaddo while Manjunath, Rukesh, Wilroy and Shivram scored for Arradi Boys.
