MAPUSA: Candolim Veterans registered a solitary goal win over Legal Legends to move into the semis of the All Goa Agnel Sulcar Memorial Football Veterans Cup, organized by Calangute Veterans, played at Poriat ground, on Saturday.
Once again Candolim Veterans started on a bright note and came close twice in opening their account, where finally in the 15th minute Caitan Xavier after collecting a through pass from Patrick darted inside the 18-yard box and beat the onrushing Legal Legends keeper Glen with an adroit placement to give his side the lead.
On crossing over, Candolim Veterans did have better of the ball possession and time and again attacked the rival citadel to further increase their one goal lead, but the Legal Legends last line of defense failed to bulge under pressure.
Raju of Legal Legends received the man of the match award from Claudio Pacheco- Proprietor of Habitat.
