Candolim in finals

Calangute, March 4: Candolim Sports Club prevailed over Sangolda Lightning 4-2 via the tie-breaker after a goalless draw to move into the finals of Laxmi and Subha inter-village soccer tournament organised by Nerul Sports Club at Nerul ground on Friday.
Changing over, Sangolda regrouped themselves and kept attacking the Candolim citadel time and again but Candolim keeper Bharat Morje was equal to his task, bringing off superb saves. 
Candolim keeper Morje brought off smart saves from Agnelo Quadros and Govind Balekar on a couple of occasions.
In the tie-breaker, Samir Naik, Shankar Palienkar, Stanley D’Silva and Joelif Simoes converted for Candolim while Mahendra Ombadkar and Amar Haldankar were on target for Sangolda. 
Llyod Mascarenhas (Sangolda) was declared man-of-the-match.
