ORLIM: Carmona Veterans thrashed Friends Circle, Curtorim, 4-1 to move into the semi-finals of the St. Michael Veterans Cup football tournament, organised by St. Michael Boys, at Orlim church ground, on Monday.
Carmona got the lead through Menino Fernandes’ shot which brushed the legs of Curtorim defender Savio and sailed into the Curtorim net in the 10th minute. Minutes later, Savio himself equalised for Curtorim before going for the half time talk.
In the second half, Carmona re-organised themselves and scored two goals through Menino Fernandes in the 46th and 59th minutes while Raju too adding his name to the score sheet taking the final score to 4-1 in the dying minutes of the second half.
Carmona will now meet St Michael Veterans in the semi-finals on October 6.
