AGASSAIM: CDJ Ribandar defeated Odxel Sports Club 2-0 in the Goa Football Association’s Second Division League (Ilhas Zone) match played at Agassaim ground, on Wednesday.
Both the teams played neck and neck in the first session as they cancelled out each other’s chances. As a result neither of the teams managed to find the breakthrough in the first half as both went into the break goalless.
Crossing over, the rejuvenated Ribandar side managed to find the breakthrough through Rohit Pilgaunkar in the 66th minute. The Odxel side tried their level best to make a comeback as they went all out in search of an equaliser but failed time and again. The opposition took advantage of the situation and managed to get yet another goal through a counter-attack in the 81st minute as Kedar sent in a through ball to Etesh Haldankar who calmly slotted the ball home in a one-on-one situation.
