SIRLIM: CDJ Ribandar scrapped past Chandor Sports Club 6-2 to enter in the quarter-finals of the 22nd OL of Merces inter-village football tournament organised by Sirlim Sports Club, at Chinchinim Church ground on Saturday.
CDJ Ribandar led 3-1 at the breather. Gaurav Kankonkar opened the scoring for CDJ Ribandar in the 10th minute off a cross from Rohan Shirodkar. However, the lead is short-lived as Chandor SC equalised in the 18th minute through Joaquim Carvalho off Cruz Gomes’ pass. Dishank Kuncolkar scored the second goal in the 25th minute off a free-kick and later Rohan Shirodkar scored the third goal for CDJ after dribbling past two defenders of Chandor SC.
In the second session, CDJ Ribandar scored three more goals. Gaurav Kankonkar completed his hat-trick scoring in the 45th & 65th minutes while Dishank Kuncolkar completed his brace after scoring in the 66thminute. Earlier, Irfan Yadwad reduced the margin in the 58th minute for Chandor SC.
