Centre ready to help set up Windsurfing Academy: Dias

Speaking as the guest of honour at the closing ceremony of Goa International Week sailing competition promoted by Vxclusive Cup at Baga on January 28, he said Goa had the natural infrastructure for such a sport and only an initative was needed to produce potential water sports champions.
He said that this year the Central Governmnt is spending Rs. 7.0 crore for the promotion of sailing in the country.
Dias had a stopover in his home State enroute Delhi after meeting officials of Hindustan Aeronautics Lmtd (HAL), Bangalore, for setting up of a football academy in HAL, Bangalore. The academy would be the 16th academy pan India, he said. So far the Sports Authority of India has established 10 National Academies and 5 Regional Academies.
