Centurion Amogh puts Sarvodaya in command

MAPUSA: After falling short for his century by a run in the first match, Sarvodaya Royals' Amogh Desai stormed a magnificent 123 to set a 426 run chase for Salgaocar Sport Club in Goa Cricket Association's (GCA) Goa Professional League two-day test cricket tournament at GCA ground, Porvorim, Thursday.

MAPUSA: After falling short for his century by a run in the first match, Sarvodaya Royals’ Amogh Desai stormed a magnificent 123 to set a 426 run chase for Salgaocar Sport Club in Goa Cricket Association’s (GCA) Goa Professional League two-day test cricket tournament at GCA ground, Porvorim, Thursday.
Salgaocar won the toss and choose to field. Sarvodaya openers Amogh and Rohit Naik (19) made a cautious start before the latter was stumped. However, Amogh was well supported by Akashdeep Nath (55) for a 106 run partnership. Then, Rahul Keni (48) played an important role as Amogh continued to receive good support before being caught by Sagun Kamat off the bowling of Maliksab when the score read 295/5.
Sarvodaya tail ender’s were impressive with the bat too; Avinash Yadav’s 47 not out saw Sarvodaya Royals finish on 425 for 9 in 90 overs as stumps fell on day one. Maliksab Shirur was the pick of the Salgaocar bowlers, clinching three wickets.
