RAIA: CES College Cuncolim secured an impressive 6-0 victory over Govt College, Borda, in the final match of the CES Inter-Collegiate invitational football tournament, held at the Ambelim Football Ground, on Saturday. The CES College team showcased their prowess on the field with goals from Ivo and Varkey, while Livon Dias took center stage by netting four goals.
Individual accolades were also bestowed upon the following players: Man of the final: Livon Dias of CES College, best defender: Godwin Da Costa of CES College, best midfielder: Santosh Vishwa Karma from Govt College Borda, top scorer of the tournament: Alent Colaco of CES College, player of the tournament: Ivo Costa of CES College and best disciplined team: Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao. The awards were presented by various dignitaries, including Nikil Dessai, instructor in physical education and sports, Akash Dessai, general secretary, Yunikat Fal Dessai, sports secretary, Vivek Podyar, Prakash Dessai, secretary of CES, Savio Madeira as the child guest, Videsh Virendra Dessai, chairman of CES, Garish Phadte, principal Sanjay Sawant Dessai, and Parvath Naik, the college director of physical education and sports. CES College Cuncolim’s outstanding performance in the tournament culminated in their well-deserved victory, while the individual achievements and the best disciplined team recognition added to the excitement of the event.
