FATORDA: Chandor Club got the better of Raia SC 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 18th Bro Eulalio Vaz memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Fatorda ground on Wednesday.
Llyod Cardozo was instrumental for Raia SC while Jovito Carvalho was for Chandor Club as they showed some excellent moves and skills.
Raia SC started the match on the forefront with striker Llyod taking control of the ball from attacking midfielder Sockey Cardozo in the very 3rd minute but the rival defender tackled his move.
The best opportunity of the match came to Safik Shaikh of Chandor Club, who was lurking into Raia SC box, but he nervously shot into the safe hands of Raia SC keeper in the 6th minute.
The deadlock was broken by Llyod with a placement shot in the 12th minute. But the joy was short-lived as within four minutes of play Jovito equalised for Chandor Club with a power-packed shot.
Llyod and Jovito missed a couple of chances as they tried their level best to score in the full time but the defence lines of both teams were on active mode till the end of the match. At the end of regulation time, the teams settled for 1-1 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Chandor Club netted through Richard, Safik and Jovito and for Raia SC Danny and Oilex converted.
