CHANDOR: Chandor Club got the better of CAC Sports & Social Club, Cansaulim 5-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the 47th Chandor Seamen football tournament, organised by Chandor Club at Chandor ground on Wednesday.
Chandor Club scored first through Alreaach Peixoto in the fifth minute. Aaron Fernandes of CAC equalised in the 14th minute. In the run of play, Victorino Fernandes of Chandor Club scored in the 19th minute to take the lead only to be nullified by Jude Fernandes of CAC in the 25th minute.
In the second half, Chandor Club dominated the proceedings scoring three goals. Safin Shaikh scored in the 40th to give a lead to Chandor Club which was quickly followed by Alreaach Peixoto scoring his second goal in the 46th minute and almost at the fag end, Selvaraj D’Costa scored in the 61st minute.
