NAVELIM: Chandor Club downed St Rock YC, Majorda, 3-1 to move into the quarterfinals of the Gold Silver Rolling Trophy at Our Lady Of Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Mark Fernandes of Chandor Club was the star of the match and also Kevin Almeida of Majorda gave his best .
It was Mark Fernandes of Chandor who orchestrated the move from the midfield and sent in a long ball to Alreach Piexito who at once took a power-packed shot and made it 1-0 in the first minute itself.
Majorda’s Kevin Almeida’s move was thwarted by Chandor defender Anthony Rodrigues. Chandor’s Alrich Piexito’s header was saved by Majorda keeper Shenoy Costa
Irfan Lal of Majorda missed chances to score in the 12th and 23rd minutes.
Chandor further inflated the lead through Valentineo Carvalho and substitute Vitorino Fernandes in the 37th and 43rd minutes respectively. Oscar Braganza pulled a goal back for Majorda in the 58th minute.
