Chandor Club downed Ambelim Sports Club 2-0 to sail into the semi-finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim ground on Tuesday. There was no score at the break.
Chandor broke the deadlock after rival keeper Benny Silva mistakenly left the ball into the nets. From a kick taken by Vitorino Fernandes, Cruz Fernandes punted the ball in, much to the cheers of the Chandor fans.
Chandor doubled the lead midway when Ariston Dias picked up the ball from his own half and later dribbled past a couple of defenders and unleashed a volley which beat the Ambelim keeper hands down.
