VARCA: Chandor Sports Club entered the quarter-final of Varca Panchayat Cup, organised by Varca Sports Club, defeating Varca SC 2-0, at Varca ground, on Thursday.
Chandor led 2-0 at the break.
Chandor took the lead in the 12th minute through Velroy Fernandes, when his long range effort hit the post and then deflected off the keeper into the nets.
Chandor doubled the lead in the very next minute through Benson Fernandes, when his effort gave no chance for the rival keeper Carmo Rebello.
Varca SC tried to come back in the game but the Chandor defence wall stood solid rock.
