MAPUSA: Chapora Yuvak Sangh trounced Benny XI 4-1 in GFA’s Second Division League match at Duler Stadium, here, on Sunday.
Chapora went into the lead in the 8th minute when a corner by Aniket Naik was smartly nodded home by Pratik Naik. They doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. Pranav Gaonkar received a through pass from Aryan Salunke and beat onrushing Benny’s goalkeeper Utkarsh Khorjuvekar with a neat placement.
On crossing over, Benny XI strengthened their defense with the entry of Michael Dias. In the last quarter, Chapora struck twice. Arun Naik gave the finishing touches to Sachidanand Satelkar’s cross and later, Sachidanand brilliantly curled his corner into the far corner.
In the added time, Benny managed to score a consolation goal through Michael Dias as his long ranger beat substitute goalkeeper Akash.At Salvador do Mundo ground, Pilerne SC managed to edge past Sinquerim SC 2-1.At Guirim ground, YSC Colvale and Bidesh XI were locked in a 1-1 draw.
