MAPUSA: Chapora Yuvak Sangh maintained a clean sheet defeating Goan Warriors FC 3-0 in their last GFA’s Second Division League match (Bardez Zone) at Duler stadium, here on Friday.
With today’s win, Chapora YS and Vagator PYSC qualified for the play-off, with 26 points each, while Cunchelim SC and Siquerim SC stand relegated to Third Division.
Chapora started with a bang scoring in the very 2nd minute when Sachidanand Satelkar’s corner was smartly headed in by Prajat Naik.
On crossing over, in the 61st minute, Aniket Naik passed to unmarked Pratik Dhargalkar who dribbled past a host of defenders and placed the ball into the far corner of the goal.
Chapora scored their insurance goal in the 82nd minute where Pratik got hold of the ball inside his own half and then set up Sachidanand who after covering some ground drilled a power-packed right footer which rebounded off the crossbar and the ball rolled to Pratik who placed the ball coolly into the goal.
At Salvador do Mundo ground, Benny XI drubbed Sinquerim SC 6-1.
Vagator PYSC trounced Pilerne SC 3-0 in another match. Samson Gomes, Godwin Fernandes and Regan Costa scored.
At Guirim ground, Cunchelim SC got the better of Bidesh XI, Assonora, 5-2.
At Parra ground, YSC Colvale defeated PVC Parra 4-1.
