PANJIM: A 90th minute own-goal from Enes Sipovic helped Jamshedpur FC stun Chennaiyin FC with a narrow 1-0 win in the Indian Super League at Athletic Stadium, Bambolim, on Wednesday.

Chennaiyin FC had a better start in the half and created a few chances but failed to find the back of the net. They controlled the game in most parts of the half

Memo Moura played a cross-field pass to Lallianzuala Chhangte to set him in acres of spcae. Chhangte dribbled and got near the edge of the box and decided to have a go towards the far post. TP Rehenesh, the JFC keeper, made a good save to push this one away.

In the 30th minute, CFC created a big chance but the JFC defense made sure they do not score.  Ricky Lallawmawma ensured that the score stay level. Lallianzuala Chhangte made a run in behind the defense and slipped in a pass for Rahim Ali. He decided to shoot the first time but Ricky put his body on the line and blocked his effort away from the frame of the goal.

JFC started to attack towards the end of this half.  After that, there weren’t any clear cut chances as the defensive unit were on their toes to make sure no goals were scored in this half.

Alexandre Lima squandered a chance when he got the ball on the bounce outside the box and he took on the half volley with his left foot, but his effort went wide.

JFC wasted yet another chance when Aitor Monroy send it a dead ball in the box to Peter Hartley who headed towards David Grande, but his effort goes over the frame.

There were wasted opportunities from both sides.  Both the teams tussled hard to find the back of the net but failed as the defensive unit of either team made sure none managed an advantage.

When it looked like both the teams would end up sharing points, the own goal from Enes Sipovic in the 90th minute of the game meant it is Jamshedpur FC who bagged all the points on offer and take the revenge of their loss in their previous encounter.

On getting the ball inside the area, Grande got the ball inside inside to his stronger left foot and decided to test the keeper. Unluckily for CFC, the ball took the deflection of Enes Sipovic’s foot and entered the goal.
