CHICALIM: Chicalim Sports Club rallied to defeat Parish Youth Association of Consua 3-1, in the Goa Football Association Second Division League (Mormugao Zone) match, played at Chicalim ground, on Monday.
The scores read 1-1 half-time.
PYA Consua started the match on an attacking note and found the breakthrough after a defensive lapse from the rival side through Zylster Lucas in the 29the minute. Struck by reverse, Chicalim SC regrouped and equalised before the breather through Shivraj Takur.
After the breather, Chicalim SC netted two more goals through Domnic Micheal in the 82nd minute and Leevan Pinto in the 89th minute to take the match away from the Consua side.
Meanwhile, at Velsao ground, Cortalim Villagers thumped United Youth Club of Bogmalo 4-0.
Meuren Cruz opened the scoring for Cortalim Villagers in the 30th minute before Francisco Tabvared doubled the lead in the very next minute. Post resumption, Cortalim Villagers began the match from where they had left off and scored yet another goal in the 55th minute through Ivon Gama while Meuren Cruz drove the final nail into the coffin in the 67th minute.
At BITS ground, BITS Football Club edged past Mormugao UCS Club 2-1. The Mormugao side opened the scoring through Erazmo Gama in the 11th minute. BITS however, came from behind in the second half and drew level with their rivals in the 54th minute through Parth Madan before Aditya Batra scored the winner in the 75th minute to take home all points.
