PANJIM: Chimbel Boys defeated Merces Boys 4-2 via tie-breaker to emerge victorious at the Victoria and Rudolf Fernandes tournament, organized by Mix Friends Sanat Cruz, recently.
At the end of the normal regulation time both the sides were locked in a goalless draw. In the resultant tie-breaker Chimbel Boys proved to be better shooters.
The winners grabbed Rs 20,000 plus trophy while the runners-up bagged Rs 12,000 plus trophy. The chief guest for the event was former MP South Goa Francisco Sardinha while Victoria Fernandes (ex-MLA St.Cruz) and Rudolf Fernandes were the Guest’ of Honour, Kishore Narvenkar (ex-Sarpanch Merces) Richard Pinto, Conceicao Periera were the special invitees, while Peter Barboza the organizer and Chairman Minguel Fernandes were also present.
