SANGOLDA: Chinchinim Veterans downed St Anna Veterans, Goa Velha 2-0 in the All Goa SAI Super League Cup football tournament, organised by Sports Authority of India Veterans Football Association, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Frank Fernandes gave Chinchinim the lead when he scored off a pass from Menino Fernandes.
Francis Goes after running solo fumbled at the last minute with only the goalkeeper to beat.
In the second half, Chinchinim dominated with Mahesh Lotlikar former India international and Dempo player excelling in defence along with Inacio Cardozo and Menino Fernandes played well for Chinchinim while Abrau D’Mello, Jerry D’Mello and Yeshwant Parab played well for St Anna Veterans.
Menino Fernandes made it 2-0 when he headed home off Francis’ pass.
With this win Chinchinim Veterans collected 3 points. They will now play Viva North Veterans on October 19, at Sangolda ground.
