PEDDA- BENAULIM: Chinchinim Veterans blanked Candolim Veterans 2-0 to enter into the semi-finals of the 1st all Goa UK /US Boys Veterans soccer tournament, organised by Mix Friends Benaulim, at Xembu Moll ground, Benaulim, on Tuesday.
After a slow start, Chinchinim increased the tempo as Chinchinim, as George Dias’ stinging shot was punched over the bar by Candolim keeper Conny in the fourth minute. Three minutes later, Candolim had chance to go ahead but Shekhar Palyekar’s shot went wide.
With just a minute left for the first half to end, George Dias opened the account for Chinchinim. As the match progressed in the second half, Chinchinim doubled the account in the 42nd minute through Jitendra Babus.
