PANJIM: Churchill Brothers take on Round Glass Punjab on Friday and hope to improve their standing in the I-League. Currently in eight position, they take on a team currently in fifth. RoundGlass Punjab FC (RGPFC) will look to maintain their winning momentum and remain in the top half of the table.
Assistant coach Mateus Costa of Churchill Brothers said the team was looking forward to the match and were confident and intended to continue their rich vein of form. RoundGlass Punjab FC had lost their last encounter against Churchill Brothers FC 2-1 last season. RGPFC have 13 points from six matches while Churchill Brothers FC have eight from seven.
RGPFC beat table toppers Real Kashmir FC at Srinagar in their previous match. They now aim for a win before returning to Panchkula for their next three rounds of matches. Churchill Brothers are on a high after beating Sudeva Delhi.
The team has scored nine goals in seven matches has also conceded nine. Their opponents have scored seven goals and conceded five.
Staikos Vergetis, Head Coach of Round Glass Punjab FC said, “As far as our next game against Churchill Brothers is concerned, it’s again a tough match against quality players and a very good team. I don’t think in the I-League there is no one game which is easy, but we are prepared. We have done our analysis and have prepared our tactics accordingly.”
The match will be played at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco da Gama with the kick-off at 7 pm.
