CUNCOLIM /VERNA: Churchill Brothers Sports Club grounded Curtorim Gymkhana 9-0 in GFA’s Goa Pro League match at Cuncolim ground, on Sunday. In the first half, Churchill Bros led 4-0.
Churchill Bros dominated the proceedings and surged ahead through Yendrenbam in the 35th minute off an assist by Jaison Vales. Thereafter, they doubled the lead as Aldrich Coelho scored three minutes later with a powerful strike and Suraj made it 3-0 in the 42nd minute.
Striker Pankaj Sona increased the tally before the break and post resumption the dominance continued.
The Red Machines pumped in five more goals through Mainoo Dadanavoor in the 70th minute, Wilson Dewri in the 75th minute and 78th minute, Sreerang Gopalan in the 86th minute and Jaison Vales in the injury time.
At Nagoa ground, Verna, Vasco Sports Club and Calangute Association shared points in a 1-1 draw.
In the 16th minute, Vasco SC took the lead through Chinedu Ejiou as the skipper headed past the rival custodian.
However, Calangute Association equalized with ten minutes to the final whistle through KM Joseph.
