PANJIM: Salgaocar Football Club and Churchill Brothers sports club shared points at Duler Stadium, after playing a goalless draw in the Goa Professional League.
In the ninth minute, Churchill Brothers’ Jobern Cardozo played an aerial pass to Clencio Pinto and the last named tried his luck from edge of the box, however his attempt was saved by Salgaocar keeper.
Churchill Bros came with another similar raid, however once again Clencio failed to make the best of the chances as he shot wide.
At the other end, Salgaocar nearly got the goal when Aglon, on getting a loose ball, fired from a distance only to see it come off the goalpost.
Later, Aglon forced a save from Churchill Bros custodian.
Meanwhile, Churchill Bros also had a shot come off the crossbar. Clencio sent in a low cross in the area which rolled to Pushkar, but the latter’s effort came off the crossbar.
In the second half, Churchill should have taken the lead when Jobern got to the end of Ashish’s deflected shot, but Salgaocar ‘s Saurabh cleared the ball in time.
Chaitan was brilliant for the Greens as he dribbled past couple of rival players and laid a perfect pass to Fhezer Gomes, but the latter couldn’t do much.
Fhezer was guilty of missing couple of more chances for Salgaocar FC, who were dominant in the second half.
