RAIA: Churchill Brothers FC moved past Calangute Association 2-1 in the GFA Pro League match played at SAG ground, Benaulim, on Tuesday.
Trijioy Dias opened the scoreline for Churchill Brothers in the 5th minute. As the match progressed in the second half Melvin Lobo equalised for Calangute Association in the 49th minute.
It was Alent Colaco of Churchill Brothers, who netted the match-winner in the 51st minute.
In another match played at Nagoa panchayat ground, the match played between Guardian Angel SC and Pax of Nagoa ended in a goalless draw. Fulgancio Cardozo of Guardian Angel SC was presented the man-of-the-match award by Johncy Fernandes, president of Guardian Angel Sports Club.
At Tilak Stadium, Vasco, Sesa Football Academy edged past Sporting Club de Goa 3-1. Sesa FA opened the account through Shridharnath Dynashwar Gawas in the 19th minute. Akeraj Martins equalised for Sporting Clube in the 49th minute.
Crossing over, Sporting Clube had themselves to blame for conceding the second goal. Just when they were gaining momentum in the game, defender Dhiraj Chouhan conceded a silly penalty by bringing down Joshua D’Silva in the box. Joshua stepped up and coolly converted the spot kick in the 60th minute.
Joshua then scored the third in stoppage time (90+3) with a low grounder, giving no chance for Sporting Clube’s Bhaskar Jalmi.
