Goan ace marathon runner Francisco Clement ruled the day at BITS Pilani’s sporting festival ‘Spree’ winning a half marathon charity run organised by Nirmaan Goa and Vasco Club on Sunday.
The marathon had around a good response of 200 participants.
Francisco Clement was followed by Nillu and Nitesh Sawalas.
In football, defending champions VNIT, Nagpur handed over a drubbing to MITS, Indore 8-0.
Among the other matches, SRIEIT, Goa stood out with a 4-1 victory over MVSREC, Hyderabad.
On the cricket field, IIST, Indore beat IIIT, Gwalior in the cricket group stage.
However, Tarun of IIIT G wowed spectators with a magnificent innings scoring 103.
BPGC girls got the better of GEC girls 13-8 in girls basketball. Captain Neha Mohanty scored eight.
J S S Noida won comfortably against GEC, Barton Hill 41-28 in boys basketball.
MVSR, Hyderabad put up a tough fight against PCCE to contain the score 48-60 with Ashish (PCCE) and R K (MVSR) scoring 24 and 22 points respectively.
BPGC sealed their place in the table tennis quarter-finals with a straight set win over NALSAR College and MEDICAP, Indore.
However, Dhempe College of Arts and Science lost to SSN College of Arts and Commerce.
Dhempe College emerged strong contenders in carrom alongwith BPGC.
Renowned badminton player, Shirish Nadkarni played several exhibition matches with participants from various colleges.
