MARGAO: A five-goal blitz by striker Clencio Pinto enabled Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda to thump Varca Sports Club 6-3 and cruise into the quarter-final of all-oa 40th Chandor Seamen Trophy inter-village football tournament at Chandor ground, Friday. Don Bosco Oratory led 3-1 at half time.
Don Bosco dominated with Clencio Pinto scoring thrice in the opening session. After taking the three-goal cushion, Don Bosco slackened their pace and allowed Varca to launch a barrage of attacks. Falsinger Fernandes reduced the deficit at the stoke of the lemon break.
Crossing over, Clencio Pinto added two more. Francis Andrade put the issue beyond doubt when he slammed the ball to the far corner of the net.
Varca regrouped and managed to pull back two more goals through Anderson Martins and Soccoro Pereira.
