PANJIM: SCC Cavelossim showed no mercy against Goa Velha Sports Club defeating 14-1 in the Goa Football Association State Futsal League, at Chowgule Futsal Arena, at Gogol, on Saturday.
Clencio Pinto, who couldn’t be at his best in his first game, was the star of the game scoring four goals in the game including a sensational solo goal. Clencio scored four goals in the game, however it was his third goal which stole the limelight.
Bersal Viegas was the other player to score the hat-trick for the winners. Goa Velha SC were totally outplayed by the Cavelossim side throughout the game. Alston Camotio and Ronil Azavedo netted a brace while former India international Futsal skipper Savio Fernandes also scored a goal.
Laxman Thapa and Klusner Pereira were the other goal getter for the winning team. The win kept the qualification hopes alive for Cavelossim, while for Goa Velha, the defeat ends their journey in the competition. Joseph Rodrigues was the lone scorer for the losing team.
In the second match, Ambelim sports Club recorded their second straight win in the competition. They beat Panjim Footballers 5-2.
Ronaldo Pereira and Myron Pereira scored a brace each for the winners with Domin Soares also adding his name on the score sheet.
For Panjim, who weren’t at the best could find the back of the net through Irfan Yadwad and Dhiraj.
