GFDC further denies allegations on non-payment of salary

PANJIM: Former member secretary of GFDC Aleixo Da Costa took coach Robert Fernandes for a meeting with Sports Minister Govind Gaude at the Assembly Complex in Porvorim, on Monday.

Aleixo stated that the Sports Minister gave a patient hearing and assured to look thoroughly into the matter and sort out the issue. 

Aleixo levelled several charges against some of the GFDC members who he said had attacked him personally at the press briefing. He also found fault with the entrainment allowance availed in September and October 2020.

Meanwhile,  Chairman of GFDC Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, further denied all allegations levelled by coach Robert Fernandes concerning non-payment of his salary for the past three years at Bambolim, Monday. Brahmanand, along with two other members, also levelled several other charges against Robert and specifically Aleixo.

Brahmanand stood by  the clarification issued on Sunday, since it did not bear his signature. He gave more details and came up with  new allegations at the press conference. Bruno Coutinho stated that he had a conversation with his lawyer so as to initiate legal proceedings to clear his name. Caitano Fernandes, Pradeep Chodankar, Shantaram Naik also spoke.

The 3-year tenure of the Council ended today. Speaking later to this journalist, Brahmanand said if he was asked to extend his tenure as Chairman, he would ask for remuneration. The post is honorary with provision for entertainment allowance.
