NAVELIM: Cocktail & Dreams,Canacona downed Simple boys 3-1 to emerge as champions of Rosary Cup 0.1 organised by Rosary High School, Navelim, at Rosary High School ground.
The opening goal was scored in the eighth minute by Cocktail & Dreams player Cavin Lobo.
In the 15th minute, Cocktail doubled the lead as Cavin Lobo scored his brace. Simple boys had a good share of ball possession and reduced the lead in the 23rd minute by Ruflon.
At half-time the score was 2-1.
In the second half the match, Simple Boys kept the pressure on their opponents but failed to find the equaliser as the Cocktail defence stood tall.
Ronaldo scored the third goal for Cocktail & Dreams to take the final score to 3-1.
Before the final there was an exhibition match between Goa legends and Diocesan Priest. Goa legends won 3-1. Bruno Coutinho, Robert Fernandes and Samir Naik scored for the winners while Fr Leo Fernandes netted for the Diocesan Priests.
The winners were richer by Rs 60,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 40,000.Vijai Sardesai Dy. Chief Minister was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Rev Fr Arlino D’mello and other dignitaries.
