PORVORIM: Goa started the 2019-2020 Ranji Trophy (Plate Group ) in style with a convincing 9 wicket win over Sikkim at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Academy ground in Porvorim on Thursday.
Sikkim who finished the last day on 331 for 8 were bundled out by Goa with the total reading 374 leaving Goa needing 74 runs to win.
Goa scored 75 for the loss of one wicket to draw the curtains on an eventful opener at the GCA ground.
Iqbal Abdulla who was on 99 at close of the third days play went on to score 135.
Darshan Misal and Felix Alemao claimed three wickets for Goa. Captain Amit Verma claimed two wickets whilst Heramb Parab and Amulya Pandrekar claimed one wicket each.
